Kaamelott: the sequel to Alexandre Astier's film is further along than you think

a nice surprise for fans of Kaamelott (but shh, it's a secret)

After five seasons dedicated to the banal and burlesque daily life of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, broadcast between 2005 and 2009 in On French television, fans of this cult series were delighted to find Kaamelott on the big screen. In 2021, Alexandre Astier and his band of troublemakers convinced some 2.6 million spectators to go to the dark rooms to discover their fight against the tyrannical Lancelot-du-Lac. Announced in the process, the sequel is nevertheless awaited… But not for much longer! We knew that the filming of the second part had started in secret this summer in Périgord, and now our colleagues at France Bleu have some excellent news for us.

According to France Bleu Périgord, filming took place over a fortnight, between the end of August and the beginning of September, at the Château de Jumilhac. The final scenes were filmed this week. Their website reports that the Dordogne Ciné-Passion filming reception office, which works with production companies, did not confirm the information (“absolute confidentiality had been requested for this filming“). Part of the filming of the sequel to Kaamelott reportedly took place in the famous Jumilhac-le-Grand castle (Brotherhood of the Wolf). Above, an Instagram post from the hotel-restaurant La Couleuvrine attests to Alexandre Astier's visit to Sarlat on July 29 and 30.
