Junior de Barranquilla's mission is to make his home team respected in the match against Atlético Nacional, in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Colombian Cup. The objective has been fully met until now, since Carmelo Valencia was in charge of inflating the nets for the partial 1-0.
The action occurred around 34 minutes, when the 'Shark' began an attack on the left wing. Freddy Hinestroza had the ball at his feet and didn't have many options to make a combination play, so he opted for a cross into the six-yard box.
The ball was intercepted by Carmelo Valencia, who headed into the first post, taking advantage of goalkeeper Aldair Quintana's poor start. The ball inflated the nets and the Junior fans present at the Roberto Meléndez Metropolitan Stadium in Barranquilla exploded with joy.

The preview of Junior vs. Atlético Nacional
The 'Tiburón' arrives motivated for this match because he beat Santa Fe (2-0) for the fourth round of the 2022 BetPlay League. In this way, he is placed in fourth place in the Clausura and also adds three consecutive matches without knowing defeat.
After the game, Junior's technical director, Juan Cruz Real, highlighted the performance of his coaches. “The team defended the stopped ball very well and scored a goal like that. We are calm because the championship has just started”, he explained at a press conference.
Although, the 'Rojiblancos' will have to concentrate on the duel for the Cup Colombia and get a local victory against Atlético Nacional. Thus, they will calmly reach the first leg in Medellín.
On the other hand, Atlético Nacional has had a bad start in the 2022 BetPlay League with two draws and the same number of defeats in four days. However, coach Hernán Darío Herrera wants to forget about those results and focus on the Copa Colombia.
