The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine has already issued almost two dozen sentences against bribe-taking judges.

If earlier judges caught red-handed with a bribe usually avoided punishment, now they have begun to receive real prison conclusions.

In particular, a sentence of nine years in prison with confiscation of property was passed against the judge of the Economic Court of the Odessa region Pavel Medentsev from Odessa, who was found guilty in absentia of extortion and receiving 570 thousand UAH from an entrepreneur for a positive court decision . The court also confiscated UAH 250,000 from him, found during the search.

Another seven and seven and a half years in prison with confiscation of property were appointed for former judges of the Goloseevsky Court of Kyiv, Andriy Novak and Oleksandr Bilyk. They were found guilty of receiving 8 thousand dollars for a court decision in the case of resuming work and paying UAH 1.5 million in compensation.

Five years in prison were also received by the judge of the Malinovsky Court of Odessa Anatoly Tselukh, who received 2.5 thousands of dollars for the “necessary” decision in a civil case.
