Jonathan Rodríguez's career will continue in Liga MX, a contest in which he has already known how to shine in the past, when he wore the Cruz Azul and Santos Laguna jersey. This time, the 'Cabecita' will join the ranks of Club América, as announced by Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia, a sports entity in which he played during the first part of this year.

Through a brief statement, the Saudi entity revealed that the institution's management agreed to the transaction with its Mexican peers, without disclosing the total cost. Let us remember that the striker had a contract until June 30, 2024, after being bought for six million dollars from the 'Celestial Machine'.

After confirming the news, Jonathan Rodríguez said goodbye with an emotional message: “I wanted to thank all the fans for the six months spent at the club. The truth is that I had a great time. It was a very nice, unforgettable experience. I will always be grateful. I hope you do well and I wish you all the success in the world.”

Throughout his time with the Al-Nassr shirt, the 'Cabecita' added a goal in eight appearances for the Saudi Professional League; while he had another presentation in the King Cup, in which he could not score.

Let's remember that the 28-year-old striker lived his best soccer period in Cruz Azul, where he registered 44 goals in 95 presentations by Liga MX. His best season was 2020-21, given that he inflated the nets 24 times (in 41 matches) and was key to winning the Torneo Clausura title.

However, Jonathan Rodríguez not only won a crown in the Mexican first division, since he also achieved glory with Santos Launa: he was champion with the 'Guerreros' in Clausura 2018, after beating Toluca in the final. Now, he will seek a new story with America.
