According to Popular Mechanics, the new rules for the military, which can meet with UFOs, will take effect just a month after similar protocols were adopted by the US Department of Defense. In the instructions developed for Japan, the military is urged to do everything in their power to take pictures or record on video an unidentified flying object that they collided with, as specialists will then investigate the resulting material.
Two years earlier, the Japanese authorities officially declared that there was no evidence of the existence of a UFO. Taro Kono himself noted that he does not believe in aliens. But the previous Minister of Defense Shigeru Ishiba saw no reason to deny the existence of UFOs and certain life forms that govern them.
