Japan will "definitely introduce" measures to fundamentally strengthen its defense capabilities, the prime minister said in his speech at the base of the country's Ground Self-Defense Forces.

Ishiba said that Japan needs to strengthen deterrence in the Indo-Pacific region by cooperating with allied countries and like-minded countries.
