Jan Englert opened up about his health. He has an inoperable aneurysm. He speaks in powerful words about the passage of time

Jan Englert speaks in powerful words about his own death.

As the “Goniec” portal reminds us, Jan Englert is one of the most famous and respected actors. In May of this year, the artist celebrated his 81st birthday. Although Englert remains professionally active and gives interviews. In one of them, he shared his thoughts on the subject of transience, euthanasia, and death. He also talked about an inoperable aneurysm.

Jan Englert on transience

In 2021, Jan Englert confessed in an interview that he had a carotid aortic aneurysm. Unfortunately, it turned out to be inoperable. The doctors made this decision taking into account both Jan Englert's age and the risks resulting from the procedure itself. The disease turned out to be a turning point for the actor, forcing him to reflect on transience.

“Where is my place? Nowhere. I'm dying. That's why I don't have the slightest problem with it” – he said in one of the interviews, quoted by “Goniec”.

Englert admitted that at his age the best thing he could do was to “pray for a quick and healthy death.” He emphasized that what he feared more than death was that he would become helpless and completely dependent on other people. “I wouldn't want to be a burden to anyone. That's what I'm afraid of,” he confessed.

Jan Englert remains professionally active

Jak indicates the portal “Goniec”, Jan Englert does not hide the fact that he supports euthanasia. Although this topic is very controversial and has a large group of opponents, for an actor every person should have the right to end their own life with dignity.

The actor also admitted that the fact that he is still professionally active is not only due to his great passion for acting, but also the need to act and the feeling that “you are not sidelined”.

“My ambition is to resign, but on my terms” – said the actor.
