New Democratic Party Leader Jagmeet Singh has sharply criticized private seniors’ residences for their actions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It is clear from the report presented by the Canadian forces that what happened in the for-profit long-term care residences is exploitation,” Jagmeet Singh said on QUB. Radio.
The NDP leader went on to cite several examples.
“They gave drugs that had expired, the health conditions were terrible and our elders were in terrible conditions,” he lists.
Jagmeet Singh has already proposed eliminating private for-profit long-term care residences by 2030.
