It's very tasty: we cook Shawarma in the Odessa style at home

Shawarma is an extremely popular fast food. Its value lies in the combination of simple ingredients and the ability to prepare it at home without difficulty.

Odessa-style shawarma recipe was shared by chef Oleksandr Ogorodnik on his Instagram. Haida. enjoy it and please yourself and your loved ones!

Odessa-style shawarma

for 4 portions

Marinade for chicken:

  • 500 grams of chicken fillet
  • 1.5 teaspoons of curry
  • 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • li>

  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons of yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon of oil

Cooking the chicken:

  1. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Fry for 1.5-2 minutes on each side (or until done), at the end cover with a lid and let rest for 7-10 minutes.< /li>
  3. Cut.

For homemade mayonnaise (Aioli):

  • 2 chicken yolks
  • 2 cloves of garlic (15 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 10 grams of salt
  • 200 grams of oil

Preparation of Aioli:

  1. In a tall glass, add yolk, garlic, salt, mustard, lemon juice (or vinegar) and oil. It is important that the egg remains on the bottom and the oil on top.
  2. Submerge the immersion blender to the bottom of the container, directly on the yolks, and turn the blender on to maximum speed.
  3. Beat at the beginning, not moving the blender until the mixture at the bottom begins to emulsify and become thick for 5 – 10 seconds.
  4. After that, slowly lift the blender up and back, grabbing the oil from the top, until the whole mass turns into a homogeneous mayonnaise.

  6. Mix the finished mayonnaise with 150 grams of sour cream (if desired, you can add a couple of sprigs of chopped dill).

Keep the finished sauce in the refrigerator for up to 3-5 days.< /p>

  1. Pavash
  2. Garlic sauce
  3. Cabbage
  4. Tomato
  5. Blue onion
  6. Fries
  7. Pickled cucumber
  8. Chicken
  9. Garlic sauce
  10. Ketchup
