Cooking lygantsi on the weekend/ibilingua
This time we offer you to cook a traditional dish of Western Ukrainian cuisine. We suspect that you might not even know about the existence of lygantsi.

The history of lygantsi is connected with mountainous areas, where local housewives invented simple but hearty dishes that did not require expensive ingredients. This is one of such dishes. By the way, it can be served as a hot appetizer or main course,

Ingredients:
- Boiled potatoes – 800 grams;
- Milk – 50 grams;
- Corn starch – 400 grams;
- Salt, pepper – to taste;
- Chicken eggs – 1 piece;
- Cheese cheese – 150 grams;
- Onions for frying – 1 piece.

>Method of preparation:
- Grate pre-boiled potatoes on a fine grater.
- Add egg, milk, salt.
- Add starch in parts and knead the dough so that it holds its shape.
- Mash the cheese with a fork.
- Form sausages and cut into pieces. Stretch each piece in your hand and form a log with cheese.
- Cook in salted water for 3-5 minutes, depending on the size.
- Serve with onions and sour cream.
