Italy does not want the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike the enemy's rear with its weapons

The Italian government has reiterated its position on the use of weapons provided by Rome by Ukrainian forces. Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani stressed that Italian weapons can only be used on Ukrainian territory. He stressed that this policy remains unchanged and expressed support for peace talks involving countries such as Russia, China, India and Brazil.

According to Tajani, Italian weapons should not be used to attack Russian territory.

“Our position on Ukraine's use of weapons has not changed, they can only be used inside Ukrainian territory,” he said during a meeting of EU diplomacy chiefs, Le Monde quoted him as saying.

Tajani also called for talks involving key global players, in particular China, and expressed hope that Beijing would help end the war.

“I hope that Beijing can play a positive role in forcing Moscow to understand that this senseless war must be stopped,” he added.

The presence of North Korean soldiers fighting on Russia's side, according to Tajani, is a negative factor for the peace process.
