Ukraine should not underestimate its merits before becoming a candidate for the EU.
This was said in his appeal of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
He noted that the seven requirements for EU accession should not be a problem, because Ukraine has done much more.
"Does this scare us? No. We have successfully completed hundreds of these before. We will definitely overcome this path … There were times when we could not take a ticket in the evening and fly to Europe in the morning. We stood in queues, documents, visas, a bunch of papers that we carried in a file, which all the officials demanded from us, who did not report to us electronic declarations … but we changed everything, – Zelensky said.< /p>
The President recalled privatization, land reform, open electoral lists, decentralization, NAPC, public services on the Internet, a common industrial space, industrial visa-free travel, deoligarchization.
BAGNET recalls that the European Council granted Ukraine the status of a candidate for joining the European Union. This decision was unanimously supported by all EU leaders during the summit in Brussels.
Let's add, after that, the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Josep Borrell stated that the European Union immediately launches the procedure for preparing the integration of Ukraine.
Note that after obtaining the status of a candidate, the stage of negotiations between the applicant country and the members of the European Union follows.
