American actor Jacob Lofland, best known for his role in the film “Mud”, will play a key role in the continuation of “Joker” Todd Phillips. This was reported exclusively by The Hollywood Reporter.
Lofland will play a prisoner in a mental hospital in Arkham, which also includes Arthur Flack, aka the Joker.

Todd Phillips is returning to direct, and he also co-wrote the screenplay with Scott Silver, who wrote the original film.
But it has recently been revealed that Brendan Gleeson will be joining Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga in the sequel to the Joker movie. We also learned that Zazeh Beetz is in talks to return to the role of Sophie Dumond.
Warner Bros also recently announced that the film will be released on October 4, 2024. Production is expected to begin this December.

The film was nominated for 11 Oscar nominations and won two gold statuettes: for Best Actor (Joaquin Phoenix) and Original Music for the Film (Hildur Guðnadóttir). Joker grossed $335.4 million at the national box office and over a billion worldwide. And with an R rating, it became the highest-grossing film in the world.
