It became known what displays will be in future folding iPhones and iPads

Apple is finally dipping its toes into the foldable phone market, and they're bringing in the heavy weapons to help. Korean publication TheElec reports that Apple has approached Samsung Display and LG Display to develop complex display panels for its future devices.

Samsung, a leader in foldable phone technology, is likely to develop a foldable panel for the 7- to 8-inch device, hinting at Apple's first foldable iPhone. This foldable phone-sized device will be similar in size to the iPad mini and potentially boast a design that folds horizontally or vertically, with Samsung preparing solutions for both options.

LG Display, on the other hand, appears to be developing&rsquo solves the problem of a larger complex area. Their project includes a 10-inch folding panel that is believed to be for the new iPad. This foldable iPad is expected to integrate easily into the existing iPad ecosystem.

However, Apple is not rushing the event. The main obstacle for the company seems to be the creases that appear in today's foldable displays. Apple has reportedly told both panel makers that getting this wrinkle out of the way is critical for them to consider launching a sophisticated device.

Apple's launch dates for these sophisticated devices remain uncertain. Industry insiders speculate that a 2026 release may be too ambitious, pushing the target date back to 2027. This could coincide with the 20th anniversary of the iPhone and the 10th anniversary of the first OLED iPhone, making this a big year for Apple.

This news is exciting for Apple fans and the tech industry as a whole. Apple's entry into the foldable screen smartphone market could further advance the technology, leading to better designs, longer-lasting screens and innovative functionality. Thanks to the experience of Samsung and LG, these sophisticated Apple devices have the potential to change the rules of the game.
