Microsoft is not going to continue the life of Windows 10, but offers users a paid Extended Security Updates (ESU) program.
Its essence lies in three years of security updates at an increasing price.
For business and corporate customers, the first year will cost $61, the second – already $122, and the third – $244.
In total, this is $427 for three years, which, as Microsoft hints, will be enough to buy a new office PC with Windows 11.
But the main thing is – if the company wants to buy ESU not from the first year, but later, it will have to pay for all missed periods. That is, for those who decide to connect in 2027, support will cost $467.
For educational institutions, the conditions are much milder: $1, $2 and $4 for three years. Ordinary users are offered only one year of updates for $30, after which support is finally terminated.
