(Uniondale) Jordan Eberle netted a brace to help the New York Islanders beat the New Jersey Devils 4-1 on Thursday.
Mathew Barzal had one goal and two assists for the Islanders, who improved their performance to 3-1-0.
Semyon Varlamov made 30 saves, being beaten only by Nathan Bastian. It was Varlamov’s first goal allowed this season, after 142 minutes and 10 seconds.
Barzal provided a goal and an assist in the first period.
Bastian narrowed the gap in the middle period ahead of Eberle and Brock Nelson’s successes in the third period.
Replacing Mackenzie Blackwood (protocol related to COVID-19), Scott Wedgewood blocked 31 shots.
