Iron throne, armor and swords: props from "Game of Thrones" put up for auction

Part of the props and costumes used in filming the eight-season series “Game of Thrones” from the HBO streaming platform will be sold at Heritage Auctions from October 10 to 12 in Dallas, USA.

In total, more than 2,000 items will be sold under the hammer. This is reported by Euronews.

The collection can also be viewed in the offices of the auction house in New York and London from September 17 to October 4. A total of 2,000 items will be distributed in 900 lots. The molten Iron Throne, armor and sword of Jaime Lannister, prosthetic teeth of White Walkers will be sold.

The initial price of the lots will vary from 500 to 20,000 dollars (from about 20 thousand UAH to about 825 thousand UAH). The auction will also sell Daenerys Targaryen's cloaks and leather suits, Jon Snow's Longclaw sword, the queen's right hand brooch worn by Tyrion Lannister.

Notably, the lots include a bell used in Walk of Shame for Cersei Lannister and blood-stained clothing from the infamous Red Wedding. HBO's senior vice president of global incentives and production planning, Jay Rowe, said the auction is an opportunity for fans to “grab a piece of history.”

HBO has carefully preserved thousands of items props, costumes and sets since the series began in 2011 to use in potential spin-offs or sequels.

Game of Thrones is a cult series from the HBO streaming platform, all the series has 8 seasons. In 2023, it became the 30th best series of the 21st century according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series was created based on the cycle of novels “A Song of Ice and Fire” by the American writer George R.R. Martin.
