Iran is preparing to strike Israel using more powerful warheads and other weapons not used in previous attacks. The Wall Street Journal reports this.

According to Iranian and Arab officials, Iran is planning a complex response to Israel's October 26 attack that will include even more powerful warheads and other weapons.

An Egyptian official said Iran privately warned Cairo of a strong and complex response to Israel's October 26 strikes.

– Our military has lost people, so it must respond, – an Iranian official said.

Iran may use Iraqi territory to carry out part of the operation, he said, and will likely strike Israeli military targets, but in a more aggressive manner than last time.

Iran does not plan to limit its response to missiles and drones, as it did in the previous two attacks, he said.

Any missiles used would have more powerful warheads, Iranian and Arab officials said.

There are also time constraints, the Iranian official said, because Iran does not want to influence the U.S. election with the attack.

The official added that the response would come after Tuesday's vote but before the inauguration of a new U.S. president in January.

WSJ notes that U.S. intelligence agencies have indicated that Iran favors Kamala Harris over Donald Trump.

Egyptian officials Bahrain and Oman said Iranian diplomats had outlined Iran's responses to U.S. warnings, both public and private, not to engage in tit-for-tat conflict with Israel.
