Apple has announced an update for the iPhone to prevent the theft of equipment for the purpose of selling parts or reactivation.

The company also announced new protocols as part of updating device repair rules. Now original Apple parts will undergo factory calibration. This will allow customers and independent services to use official parts for repairs already this fall.
