iPhone is no longer top: experts named smartphones with the best screens on the market

DxOMark specialists conducted a study and found out which smartphone has the best screen today. Experts check the displays, testing the brightness and clarity of the image, the quality of color reproduction, the response of the sensor and other points.

As a result of the tests, the Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro were recognized as smartphones with the best screens in the world. According to internal tests, both devices scored 158 points and took first and second place, respectively, in the DxOMark rating.

DxOMark experts highly praised the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL for color reproduction, including skin tones in different lighting conditions, excellent HDR10 video viewing experience, high smoothness and touch response. The display is also very readable from different angles.

The Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 displays are based on an OLED matrix: Google calls them Super Actua Display. However, if the regular version uses an LTPO panel, then the “pro” uses LTPO OLED. However, by and large, there are no serious differences between them. This is evidenced by the fact that the basic Pixel 9 took fourth place in the top.

It is noteworthy that its predecessors in the person of the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max scored higher – 151 points and 12/13th place, respectively. As for the basic iPhone 16 model, it took 40th place, losing to the inexpensive Galaxy A35.

According to rumors, the camera unit of the future iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max will receive a 48-megapixel telephoto camera, and the “front” will be updated for the first time with iPhone 11 from 12 to 24 megapixels.
