Apple plans to release a new iPhone 17 Air in 2025 with a record-breaking thin body. According to the South Korean publication Sisa Journal, the device will be 6.25 millimeters thick, making it the thinnest smartphone in the company's history.
The presentation of the new product will take place in early September 2025, and sales will start two weeks after the announcement. The smartphone will receive a 6.6-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1260×2740 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
The new Apple A19 processor, manufactured using a 3-nanometer process, will be responsible for performance. The RAM will be 8 GB, and the built-in memory will be available in options from 128 GB to 1 TB.
The main camera will receive a 48-megapixel sensor and will be located in the center of the case. The front camera will have a resolution of 24 MP. Dynamic Island will remain, but will become more compact.
iPhone 17 Air will work exclusively with eSIM without support for physical SIM cards. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the smartphone will for the first time receive Apple's own 5G modem instead of Qualcomm solutions.
The battery capacity will be 3000 mAh. The case will be made of aluminum with minimal titanium inserts. The screen will be protected by an updated Ceramic Shield coating with an anti-glare layer.
The starting price of the iPhone 17 Air in the US will be $ 899. This corresponds to the cost of the current version of the iPhone Plus. According to insiders, Apple will also improve the cooling system, speed up charging, and update the Face ID system for faster unlocking.
