New features in iOS 16

The developers have changed the lock screen, updated Messages, Home, Wallet and Maps, allowed to use “Fitness” without Apple Watch, and also added storage of photos and videos of the whole family in a common cloud.

In addition, the Always On Display function appeared. Thanks to her, users can see the time, notifications, date and other system data, even when the screen is turned off. At the same time, it consumes a minimum of energy, as implemented in the Apple Watch.

In addition to smartphones, Apple Watch will receive a new firmware called watchOS 9. It will not support Apple Watch 3, the update is only available for owners of Series 4/5/6/7 and budget SE. New software for tablets, laptops and computers, dubbed iPadOS 16 and macOS 13, will be released at least in October.
