When developing a new version of the proprietary software platform iOS 14, which was presented a couple of weeks ago, Apple made a lot of interesting changes to its interface. It just turned out that users are far from satisfied with all the updates, moreover, problems have already been found in the shell, some of which in the past were also plagued by the Windows desktop OS.

According to the authoritative industry resource ZDNet, iOS 14 has problems with inconsistent changes in the interface, which has changed in places where it was not required at all. Experts even compared this stage of development with the popular Windows OS, noting that similar problems were observed in it in the past. As a result, experts say, in iOS 14 there is not a very successful interweaving of old and new versions of the interface. As an example, a new kind of time input system in a small window is given, where instead of the old scroll wheels, it is now possible to enter from the virtual keyboard. In general, such changes can be considered a convenient and successful solution, however, for the sake of this, the developer made the elements small and not very convenient for input, which will annoy many users.
Another area in which experts have identified an unfortunate mix of different styles is in the device settings app. And in this case, there were also analogies with Microsoft's attempt to rid its desktop platform of the “control panel”, which significantly complicated the process of making changes to the settings.
