From 1er March, we will be able to see designer Camille Charland Perez host the brand new show Mini chalet – Natural size. Until then, why not take the opportunity to discover your favorite books?
What are you reading at the moment?
The power of habits by Charles Duhigg. It is a book that allows us to identify good routines and bad routines, then shows us how to use them to improve our daily life. I’m not very advanced in my reading, so at the moment I don’t know if my morning routine (getting up, having a coffee, reading the news) is positive!
Tell us about the novels you’ve loved over the past few years.
Five books immediately spring to mind:
► The little savage by Alexandre Jardin. It tells the story of a man who realizes that his life has passed before his eyes and before it is too late, he decides to regain his child’s heart. I like novels where there is this kind of introspection.
► The alchemist by Paulo Coelho. A classic, in which we will see a young shepherd ready to go to the end of the world to look for a hidden treasure. Finally, he will realize that this treasure, he was very close to him. This book reminds us to appreciate the things around us.
► The truth about the Harry Quebert affair by Joël Dicker. I also really like the novels in which there is mystery, how much can be found in this one! And then there is this love story that can shock between a mature man and a young girl …
► #Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso. It’s her own story, which is the opposite of everything traditional. When she was still just a young girl, she searched second-hand clothing stores, sold her finds on eBay, and became very wealthy. His journey is truly inspiring.
► The crime of the Orient Express by Agatha Christie. Me, I grew up with the Harry Potters and when I discovered this book, I thought it had a bit of a magical side! A great classic that I have read several times.
And what was your most recent crush?
Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins. It transports us to the era of “sex, drugs and rock’n’roll”, because Daisy is the singer of a group from the 1970s. She has a very strong personality and her character is fascinating. So much so that all along, I wondered if this was a true story or not. It’s told so realistically that I could easily have believed so!
Do you remember not being able to finish a book?
I would rather say “books”, because it is about the series Millennium. I just think I’m running out of time, and I get discouraged at the idea of starting another brick. One day I will take the time, because it is well written and history takes us to Sweden, one of my favorite countries – a reading with travel included!
What do you recommend to us to free up time for a book?
To really get away from everyday life, I love The Hygge Book by Meik Wiking. It is a work which tells and explains the way of life of the Nordic populations, and more particularly that of the Danes. Taking the time to drink your coffee, the impact of candles and the wood fireplace … The Danes are among the happiest people in the world and it is soothing to try to transpose their rituals at home.
What’s the decor book you couldn’t do without?
Down to earth by Lauren Liess. It’s an English book, but honestly 90% of its content is visual and for me it’s mostly for inspiration. All the interiors he presents are alive, have a soul, and all always have a little something different, a novelty that gives good ideas.
For those who want to learn about interior design, do you have a suggestion?
Renovate your house by Joanna Gaines. It’s a book that will describe the styles to help us find the one that appeals to us, which explains how to make plans, how to maximize the space of each room, which details the differences between the materials … more than just inspiring us!
Finally, which book do you dream of giving yourself soon?
Find her why by Simon Sinek. He is someone who wants to help us understand the meaning of our actions, both personally and professionally.
