Internet giant Google hinted on AR-glasses

On May 14, 2024, at the Google I/O presentation, Google showed how AI is looking for an employee's glasses. The Verge believes that it — a prototype of new AR glasses that Google plans to test.

The past of Google AR glasses

In 2013, Google Glass was created – a smart device with a small display in the user's field of vision. It was criticized due to privacy issues and now, according to the media, Google wants to create a more successful version of the gadget. Google Glass was withdrawn from sale, leaving only an option for use in the business sphere.

Project Iris — the company's second attempt to release glasses, which was also not very successful due to the fact that its capabilities did not match the promises. Google stated that the glasses will be able to translate in real time.

What could the new AR glasses be?

According to The Verge, this attempt to create a new prototype glasses means that Google still has big ambitions not only in the field of AR, but also in portable AI devices.
