For the International Day of Beauty, September 9, Radio Maximum has prepared a selection of the most beautiful places in Ukraine, as a must worth visiting.

Beauty is the main subject of aesthetics – one of the important sections of philosophy, and it is also one of the three fundamental human values, together with goodness and truth.

The most beautiful places of Ukraine:

1. Cave “Optimistic”

The “Optimistichna” cave is located in the Ternopil region and is considered the longest gypsum cave in the world, which is why it was even entered into the Guinness Book of Records. The length of the passages is not known for sure, today they speak of figures of 213-267 km, although researchers note that about 15% of the passages have been studied.

In the underground world of this unique place, there is an exciting atmosphere that cannot be conveyed with the help of photos. 2. Sofiivka National Dendrological Park

The Sofiivka National Dendrological Park is one of the best examples of park art and landscape design in Ukraine with an area of ​​179.6 hectares. Located in the city of Uman, Cherkasy region, this park attracts visitors with its beauty, diversity of flora and history.

Sofiivka Park is famous for its unique landscape design. Elements of English garden art, stylized figures, lawns, ponds and architectural compositions are found here. The natural object is a real treasure for botanists and plant lovers. Various trees, shrubs and flower compositions from all over the world are presented here. One of the notable features of the park is that it is built around the Kamianka River, and cascades, waterfalls, ponds, water features are arranged along the riverbed, creating unparalleled landscapes.

3. Bakota

The flooded village of Bakota is a magical place located almost 50 km from Kamianets-Podilskyi in the Khmelnytskyi region. The first information about Bakota dates back to 1024 in the annals, but excavations indicate the presence of pagan settlements in these territories much earlier. In the first half of the 13th century, Bakota was considered the capital of Ponizia, which was a part of it.

Modern Bakota is the territory on the banks of the Dniester, which is part of the Podilski Tovtry National Nature Park. A cave monastery, healing springs, soothing silence and picturesque landscapes attract tourists to visit the Ukrainian “Atlantis”.

4. Lake Synevyr

Lake Synevyr is an unparalleled natural object located in the Carpathians at an altitude of 989 m above sea level. Occupying an impressive area of ​​about 4-5 hectares, with a maximum depth of 22-25 meters, the lake is noted for its crystal clear water and incredible nature around.

It is the “heart” of the Synevyr National Natural Park of the same name. Having gained popularity as a tourist attraction, the lake attracts thousands of visitors every year who want to enjoy the natural wealth of the Carpathians. Its face also changes with the seasons: bright vegetation blooms here in summer, and its color palette impresses in spring and autumn.

5. Khotyn Fortress

Khotyn fortress is a medieval fortress located in the city of Khotyn, Chernivtsi region. In general, it served as a defensive structure for most of its existence and witnessed many battles.

Built on the picturesque banks of the Dniester River, the fortress has undergone many trials and events that reflect the multifaceted history of this region. 6. Odessa catacombs

A unique underground network located near Odessa. This system of underground tunnels and passages arose during the construction of the city in the 19th and 20th centuries. It was used for mining building materials, in particular, shell stone. Later, during the war, the catacombs became a refuge for refugees and a place for revolutionary meetings.

The underground system of the Odesa catacombs is impressive in its variety and size – their total length is more than 3,000 km. To understand the scale, it should be noted that the Paris catacombs have a maximum length of 300 km, while the Roman catacombs are only 150-170 km.

7. Khortytsia Island

This is the largest island on the Dnieper (its area is about 23.5 sq. km, which is almost 10 percent of the territory of the modern city of Zaporozhye), on which various natural complexes and historical monuments.

It is believed that Prince Svyatoslav Ihorovych died in 972 in Khortytsia, Severyn Nalivaiko, Kryshtov Kosynskyi, Ivan Sulima went on Cossack campaigns against the Poles from here, Peter Sahaidachnyi visited here with his army, and Bohdan Khmelnytskyi came during the Liberation War with the support of registered Cossacks.

8. Tunnel of love in Klevan

The green tunnel in the forest, located on a section (about 4 km) of the railway track, is not a miracle of nature, but rather the result of man-made influence. On its way from the village of Klevan to the woodworking plant in Orzhev, the train knocks down branches of trees and bushes. As a result, a dense corridor with a precise arched shape was formed.

9. Shipit Falls

The hydrological natural landmark of local importance is located in a shallow gorge of the Pylypets River within the Mizhhirsky district of Zakarpattia Oblast, approximately 10 km from the Volovets railway station, 6 km from the village of Pylypets.

The waterfall was formed at the outcrop of stable Paleogene sandstones and gravelites with thin layers of shale. The waterfall is especially rich in spring, when the snow melts on the slopes of Mount Gemba. Special bus tours are organized here from sanatoriums and boarding houses in Zakarpattia and Prykarpattia. 300 m from the waterfall there is a ski lift that serves as a reference point for those who want to visit the waterfall.

10. Bili Kameni Waterfall

The true pearl of the industrial Dnipropetrovsk region – Bili Kameni Waterfall has existed since 1932, when the Karachuniv Reservoir was created along with the construction of the Kryvyi Rih Metallurgical Plant on the Ingulets River. The height of the waterfall is 12 meters, and experts consider it one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Ukraine.

The waterfall and the banks of the reservoir are formed on the basis of granite rocks and rapids of the Ingulets River. There are forest strips on the banks. The stone stairs of the waterfall are almost always covered with dense white foam of rushing water.
