Intel has eliminated the self-ignition problem of its processors

The Intel company fixed the problem of spontaneous combustion of its processors

The Intel company has officially announced the solution to the problem that led to the premature failure of its flagship processors. It turned out that the 13th and 14th generation chips were asking motherboards for too much voltage, causing them to overheat and damage them. This is reported by Tom’s Hardware.

What else is known about self-ignition

The company released a BIOS update that solves the problem and ensures stable operation of processors. However, the update will not help processors that are already affected by the bug. In such cases, Intel offers a free replacement of the damaged processor with a working one and extends the warranty for two years.

Intel's next step – the official announcement of processors of the Core Ultra 200 line, which will take place on October 10, 2024.
