Intel unveiled its Lunar Lake mobile chips at Computex, which ran from June 4 to 7. It was also announced at the event that the devices will start shipping in the third quarter of 2024. Recently, there have been rumors about a possible delay of this model of processors.
However, an Intel representative denied the insiders' information about the delay in Lunar Lake deliveries and the accelerated release of Arrow Lake desktop processors, which should appear in mid-autumn. The company assured that the rumors are untrue and Lunar Lake deliveries will begin in the third quarter, that is, from July to September, as planned.
At the exhibition, Intel did not announce the list of SKUs — branding of devices (laptops) that will receive Lunar Lake. It's also unclear what is meant by third quarter delivery — delivery for production of computers or the appearance on sale of both computers and chips separately.
According to open Intel reports, "the next Intel Arrow Lake desktop processor will go on sale in October". The emphasis here is on sales. After all, several months usually pass from the supply of components for production to the release of finished products on the market.
If the supply of Lunar Lake will begin only in the third quarter, and Arrow Lake will already be sold in October, then the desktop model can really overtake the mobile .
