Intel and AMD are strained: Nvidia will release its own processors for PCs as early as 2025

It seems that the duopoly of Intel and AMD in the PC market is coming to an end. NVIDIA itself was interested in this segment. The techno giant is preparing to release the first line of its own processors for consumer PCs. The DigiTimes portal shared the details.

The “green” processor will be based on a 3nm chipset and will use the ARM architecture. MediaTek, which has experience in the development of mobile chips, helps the company in its production.

In theory, NVIDIA can present a high-performance processor that, paired with the manufacturer's discrete graphics, will compete with the top gaming platforms of AMD and Intel on the x86 architecture. To do this, the company has to ensure the compatibility of ARM chips with modern games, and given its close ties with game development studios, this is quite achievable.

Moreover, NVIDIA has been engaged in the production of ARM processors for a long time. for consumer devices. In the early 2010s, the company supplied chips for HTC phones, then produced them for its own SHIELD consoles, and now it makes Tegra processors for Nintendo Switch consoles, which have sold more than 140 million units.

According to media reports, NVIDIA plans to release the first chips as early as September 2025, and consumer devices based on these processors will be ready for launch in early 2026.
