Instagram social network pays bloggers to switch from TikTok: what are the amounts of "bonuses"

Meta has taken advantage of TikTok's absence from US app stores and is offering content creators cash rewards for exclusive placement of their videos in the Reels section.

What bonuses are offered to bloggers

This refers to posting content first on Instagram, and not on TikTok or other social networks. The amount of the reward, according to The Information, ranges from 10 000 to 50 000 dollars per month.

What Meta says

Meta spokeswoman Paige Cohen told The Verge that the bonus program does exist. According to her, TikTok creators will be offered deals that should help grow their Instagram and Facebook accounts.

Reference. The program is called Breakthrough Bonus and allows TikTok bloggers to earn up to $5,000 over 3 months for publishing Reels on Facebook and Instagram.

What is known about the ban on TikTok in the US

Back in April 2024, the US issued a decree according to which the TikTok social network, owned by ByteDance, would be banned in the country if the platform was not sold to a company based outside of China by January 19.

Later, Trump postponed the blocking of the social network for 75 days and said that he would not mind if billionaires like Ilon Musk or Larry Ellison. Eventually, it was revealed that TikTok's Chinese parent company, ByteDance, would make a deal to keep the app available in the United States.
