Interesting Engineering writes about it.

< p >The trials took place the day before, April 13. They were conducted by the Indian Defense and Development Organization (DRDO).

< p > According to DRDO, during the tests, the Indian system not only destroyed drones, but also successfully reflected the attack of swarms of drones by itself. In addition, laser weapons have shown their ability to destroy enemy surveillance sensors and antenna, which greatly expands its tactical capabilities on the battlefield.

< H2 > Laser Weapon India: What is known about the characteristics of the system MK-II (a)

< P > Indian Laser Weapon System Directed Energy, called MK-II (A), was created by the Center for High-Energy Systems and Sciences (CHESS) DRDO with the assistance of other companies and academic institutions.

~ ~ ~ > < p >According to India Today, domestic development is a system of Laser-Dew MK-II (A) with a capacity of 30 kilowatts. The system has a built -in electro -optic system for independent detection of drones and missiles. It can also accept help from other radars for intelligence inputs.

< P > After detection, the system produces an intense laser beam for its destruction. It is so powerful that it can cut the target by structurally destroying a drone or rocket or even leading to a larger explosion if it hit a warhead.

< p >< Em > “Thanks to this successful testing, the country has joined the exclusive club of world states with a powerful Dewwwas Laser Laser System”, & nbp; Read in the DRDO message in x.

< P > The agency has not yet revealed the maximum range of the weapons system, but the video shows how it destroys the unmanned aircraft in flight. The footage shows how the drone is completely destroyed by the weapon system.

< P > The message also states that it is a land version of the system, which means that the option for integration into naval vessels is also in development.
