India has announced plans to fly to Venus and build its own space station

The Indian government has approved a number of major space projects. Among them — the delivery of lunar soil to the Earth as part of the Chandrayaan-4 mission, the creation of the first module of the domestic orbital station, and the launch of an apparatus for the study of Venus. This is reported by Spacenews.

As for the delivery of samples from the Moon, two disposable LVM 3 rockets are planned to be used in this ambitious project. The budget of the mission will be about 21 billion rupiah. This complex operation will prepare the country for the landing of astronauts on the surface of the satellite, which is planned to be done by 2040.

Recall that the landing module “Chandrayan-3” made a successful landing in 2023. This made India the fourth country to land on the moon.

The Venus Orbiter Mission (VOM) has been approved in the country to explore Venus. The launch of the spacecraft is scheduled for March 2028. Its scientific goals include the study of the atmosphere, geology and evolution of the planet. 12.36 billion rupees will be allocated for the program.

The launch of the first module of its own space station Bharatiya Antariksh (BAS-1) is scheduled for December 2028. There are also plans to develop a reusable launch vehicle (NGLV). Its construction will include three test flights within eight years.
