India conducted a test flight of a cruise missile of its own production

India successfully test-flighted the indigenously developed Indigenous Technology Cruise Missile (ITCM) from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur in Odisha.

A test conducted at the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha demonstrated the missile's ability to fly over the sea at very low altitude, marking a decisive advance in India's indigenous defense technology.

Announced by the Ministry of Defense a test conducted by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) demonstrated the effective operation of all subsystems. Various range sensors, including radar and electro-optical tracking systems, provided full monitoring throughout the flight path. Note that the Su-30-Mk-I aircraft of the Indian Air Force also monitored the missile's flight path.

Guided by waypoint navigation, the missile followed the intended path, demonstrating its advanced avionics and software.

The missile, developed by the Aeronautical Development Authority (ADE) in collaboration with other DRDO labs and Indian companies, has its own propulsion system developed by the Gas Turbine Research Authority (GTRE) in Bengaluru.

The successful test has earned approval from Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh, recognizing it as an important milestone in India's defense research and development. Defense Research and Development Secretary and DRDO Chairman Dr Samir V. Kamath praised the DRDO team for their achievements, stressing the importance of indigenous technology in strengthening India's defense capabilities.
