Independent candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. has suspended his election campaign for the US presidency. He announced this on Friday, speaking to reporters in Arizona. Kennedy said that he cannot continue his campaign due to corruption in government, in particular the Democratic Party, and because of the censorship that the leading media has subjected his election campaign. Kennedy said he would support Republican candidate Donald Trump, Voice of America reports.
According to Robert Kennedy, he is not stopping, but only suspending his election campaign. He said his name will remain on the ballot in many states, but not in ten swing states.
Kennedy said he could influence the outcome of the elections in favor of the Democrats in states such as Arizona, Nevada, and Georgia, but he wants to avoid this, since he disagrees with the Democrats on many ideological positions.
