In “Ukrzaliznytsia” the embezzlement of almost UAH 1.5 million in spare parts for diesel locomotives was exposed

In Kyiv, law enforcement officers suspect the director of a private firm of embezzling UAH 1.5 million from Ukrzaliznytsia. on the supply of used spare parts for locomotives.

This was reported in the press service of the Main Directorate of the Kyiv National Police.

The investigation established that the company and “Ukrzaliznytsia” in 2022, they concluded an agreement on the supply of spare parts for diesel locomotive engines. Namely: 98 new cylinder covers, the cost of which was 93.6 thousand hryvnias per unit.

"The director of the LLC, a 36-year-old resident of Zaporizhzhia, delivered a part of the product that has signs previous use and does not meet the technical requirements. Therefore, funds were unjustifiably transferred to the accounts of the supplier's company. Damages amount to more than 1.4 million hryvnias",— the message says.

The man was charged with suspicion under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces up to twelve years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years and confiscation of property.

The investigation is ongoing. As part of the pre-trial investigation, a legal assessment will be made of the actions of the officials of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”.
