< strong>From November 11, Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University will ban the use of the Telegram messenger for official purposes. The corresponding order was signed by the rector of the university.

The Student Parliament of the university informed about it, and the Institute of Mass Information (IMI) also confirmed this.

Also in the telegram channel of KNU named after Taras Shevchenko posted a post asking users which other platform they would choose for further communication.

Telegram channel Realnyi Kyiv reported that Wi-Fi in university dormitories no longer supports Telegram. This information was also confirmed on the official Facebook page of the university.

In addition to KNU, the messenger was also previously banned in the capital's National Aviation University and Yuriy Fedkovich Chernivtsi National University.

We remind you that on September 20, the National Cyber ​​Security Coordination Center held a meeting with the participation of government officials and military leadership and made a decision to limit the use of Telegram in state authorities, military formations and critical infrastructure facilities due to threats to state security. Telegram in Ukraine does not apply to personal smartphones, but applies only to the work computers of civil servants, military personnel and employees of critical infrastructure.
