People's deputies have prepared a draft law providing for an increase in fines for speeding for Ukrainian citizens. This reports the press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Telegram.

So far, the fine for exceeding the speed limit by more than 20 kilometers per hour is UAH 340, for exceeding the speed limit by more than 20 kilometers per hour – UAH 1,700.

They want to increase these fines:

  • for exceeding the speed limit by more than 80 km/h – UAH 3,400 fine;
  • for exceeding the speed limit by more than 110 km/h or more – UAH 4,250;
  • for exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h, if this caused an emergency – UAH 5,100 with deprivation of a driver's license for one year.

Now in Ukraine, drivers are prohibited from driving a car without a valid motor vehicle citizen in accordance with the law “On Compulsory Insurance of Land Vehicle Owners”. A fine is provided for non-compliance with the law.
