Law enforcement officers in the Chuhuyiv district of the Kharkiv region exposed a resident of the village of Gaidary, who published the symbols of the communist regime on social networks.
This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the man began to systematically spread images of a hammer and sickle, a red five-pointed star and other symbols of the communist totalitarian regime on the Internet, which is prohibited by current legislation. The relevant publications appeared on his Facebook page.
Law enforcement officers collected the necessary evidence, after which, under the procedural guidance of the Chuguiv District Prosecutor's Office, they informed the man of suspicion under Part 1, 2 of Article 436-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (distribution and public use of symbols of the communist totalitarian regime).
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the investigative department of the police No. 2 of the Chuguiv District Police Department with operational support from the SBU Department in the Kharkiv region.
