In the USA they presented the updated concept of the X-Plane drone

Aurora Flight Sciences presented the updated concept of the X-Plane drone.

Drone Army reports that the American company Aurora Flight Sciences is developing a new design of the X-UAV -Plane within the scope of the DARPA SPRINT program.

DARPA said that SPRINT's main goal is to demonstrate a "transformational combination of aircraft speed and runway independence", which includes "the ability to fly at speeds from 400 to 450 knots at appropriate altitudes and hover in severe conditions over unprepared surfaces.

In the animated image published by the company Aurora, showing the flat panel covering the top of the forward lift engine and the split circular wing section covers to allow level flight. In the upper central part of the fuselage there are two additional auxiliary flaps that can divert air from the main engine when the aircraft is in vertical take-off and landing mode.
