The development belongs to the specialists of Yale University. To obtain robotic tissue, the creators had to use a variety of tools. Among other things, liquid Field alloy was added to the starting material. The unique characteristics of this metal allow you to heat the new fabric to the desired value and fix it in a given shape. As the authors of the development said, the difference between a heated and cooled composite reaches 1000 times, which makes it possible to create a strong frame from the material.
Also, a special alloy was added to the fabric, which has a shape memory. Thanks to this, it became possible to program the material in such a way that it can return to its original state on demand. Scientists believe their development could be used to create parachutes, tents and high-tech clothing.
