A Russian court ordered Yandex to hide maps of an oil refinery that has been attacked by drones four times to hide access to maps and photos of one of the largest Russian oil refineries (REFs) due to drone attacks.
Radio Liberty reports this.
The state agency does not specify which refinery it is referring to, but specifies that it has already been attacked four times.
«Yandex» by court decision must remove or retouch images of workshops, compressor stations, tank sites and other elements of the plant on the «Yandex Maps» service.
The prosecutor's office, which filed the lawsuit, explained its demands by the fact that «information about objects of strategic importance» is freely available.
It is emphasized that this is the first court decision that «obliged a Russian transnational company in the field of information technology to remove from open access photos and maps of a strategically important object for the defense-industrial complex».
