This breed was the first to arise naturally in the Carpathians and was named after the famous region.

A new breed of cats was introduced in Romania – “Transylvanian”. . This is reported by Romania TV.

The “Transylvanian” cat has already gained international recognition, and its official approval is expected in two years.

Extremely healthy, with extremely good genetic baggage. Two international federations have procedures for recognizing and registering breeds related to nesting, health, genetics, and how they differ from other breeds. Many things are taken into consideration before final approval is granted. We are now in the third generation stage. We have to cover 4 generations to get final recognition, said Alexandru Elian, director of exhibitions.

Note that a new breed of cats can emerge naturallythrough evolutionary changes that occur as a result of natural selection. In a certain geographical area, for example, in the Carpathians, the cat population can adapt to specific environmental conditions, such as climate, availability of food and shelter.

Lifts are lighter in color than Siamese , in which they are darker, their fur is like salt and pepper, white with black, white strands next to black strands. I also discovered that they have a completely special temperament, a free-range cat can be quite aggressive, these cats are not aggressive at all, these cats do not take out balls, they are absolutely incredible, – explained Alexandru Elian.

Cats with genetic traits matching these conditions have a greater chance of survival and reproduction. Over generations, these characteristics can become fixed in the offspring, leading to the emergence of a new breed with unique physical and behavioral traits that distinguish it from other breeds.
