Ukraine successfully used its own long-range weapon, hitting a target at a distance of 700 km. It is most likely a drone. Defense Express writes about it.
Yesterday, August 31, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the successful use of long-range weapons that can attack enemy targets at a distance of 700 km.
"It is quite possible that when the head of state spoke about a target with a range of 700 km, he could well have in mind the recent raid on the Rashist airport in Pskov, which cost the enemy the loss of at least four Il-76 military transport aircraft, which for the Russians are literally per weight of gold due to low production rates", – says the publication's material.
In any case, the publication assumes that the recent events with the "cotton" on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Defense Express writes that the variant with the modernized “Neptune” complex can not even be considered. So far, it can attack targets at a distance of 400 km, and it still needs to be modernized to increase the area of damage. 500 km and more, as a result of further modernization works. Accordingly, drones remain. But then we enter the plane of even greater mystery and obscurity", – writes the publication.
Western media previously reported that Ukraine is developing its own drones that could attack targets at a distance of 1,000 km.
Based on open sources, Defense Express writes that the stop it is possible on two already known options, namely “Beaver” drones and “Morok”. Thus, the publication believes that Ukrainian designers could create a long-range kamikaze drone, which in terms of characteristics turned out to be better than the Iranian “Shaheed”.
