In the Kherson region, HIMARS destroyed an enemy division of the S-300 air defense system

< p>In the Kherson region, the Defense Forces destroyed a Russian division of the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system with a HIMARS missile strike, reports the Operational Command “South”. maneuvered from landing 80 km from the front line. However, Ukrainian air reconnaissance managed to track down a Russian division near the settlements of Pryvilya and Oleksandrivka and hit the Russians with HIMARS missiles.

As a result of the successful operation, three S-300 air defense missile launchers and one fuel tank were damaged. and disabled two fire detection and control radar stations at once.

The S-300 air defense system can shoot down aircraft, cruise and ballistic missiles at a distance of 5 to 150 km. At the same time, it does not matter at what height the target is flying – 10 meters or 27 km. 

The S-300 can also be converted to launch missile strikes at ground targets. the Russians regularly shell Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv.

According to estimates, as a result of the HIMARS strike, the Russians lost $100 million worth of equipment.

Analysts call the successful strike by the Armed Forces revenge for the recent destruction of the Ukrainian S-300 battery&nbsp ;in Mykolaiv Oblast.
