In the event of a Russian invasion of the territories of NATO countries such as Lithuania, Romania, Poland, they will have to wait at least two weeks for help from the Alliance allies.

Retired American General Ben Hodges spoke about this in an interview with the Romanian publication Radu Tudor.

The military man indicated that the structure of the North Atlantic Alliance is structured in such a way that its members can come to the rescue in about two weeks .

— In particular, the training of forward presence battle groups, NATO forces, host country forces that will stop the first attacks, air defense, land defense, naval forces, etc.

Critical part defense is that the nation must remain alone with the enemy for close to two weeks— Hodges indicated.

It is during this period that it is possible to organize the Armed Forces of the country that was attacked, as well as the Ground units of the closest partner states.

— Air forces will be able to arrive earlier, navies of other countries – Turkey and Bulgaria – also could have arrived a little faster, — concluded a US officer.
