In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a criminal defrauded 10 people: what was the fraud scheme?

In Kryvyi Rih, at least 10 people became victims of a criminal who defrauded them using the Internet.

The D1 TV channel reported this with reference to the Main Police Department of Dnipropetrovsk region.

Currently, 10 victims from across the country have been identified. The final number of those defrauded and the amount of losses are being determined.

Employees of the Kryvyi Rih District Police Department, together with cyber police, found out that a 38-year-old man was involved in the crimes. For a year, he created websites where he posted photos and information about the sale of various goods. However, having received money from potential buyers, he did not send the goods and broke off contact with them.

Investigators, in agreement with the Kryvyi Rih Central District Prosecutor's Office, reported the attacker to be suspected of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 190 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigative actions are ongoing.
