Unknown persons involved in the murder of a tiger named Pavlik are wanted in the Amur region. The animal, listed in the Red Book of Russia, was released into the wild a year ago.

The remains of the deceased predator were found a few days ago near the village of Novostepanovka, which is part of the Svobodnensky district. The Blagoveshchensk interdistrict environmental prosecutor Oleg Zyubin informed about the initiation of criminal proceedings in connection with the incident. Vasily Orlov, who is the governor of the Amur Region, announced that law enforcement officials had data on possible people involved in the death of the animal. He pointed out that the GPS signal from the tiger's collar stopped receiving on 8 September. Pavlik's body was found 4 km from the place where his location was last noted.
Orlov added that he intends to seek tough responsibility for those responsible. He promised that they would not get away with what had happened.
