In Spain, refugees from Ukraine worked at three clandestine tobacco factories

Europol, together with the Spanish police, arrested 27 people involved in organizing three tobacco factories in Spain, where refugees from Ukraine worked. This was reported by the Spanish edition La Vanguardia.

Ukrainians who fled the war in their homeland worked on the manufacture of cigarettes for a long time without leaving the factories. They were settled in prefabricated modules.

During the search, law enforcement officers seized 10 tons of tobacco leaves and 3, 5 million packs of cigarettes with a total value of 37.5 million euros.

The criminal group organized the work of three factories in Logroño, Valencia and Seville. Tobacco warehouses were located in the cities of Alfaro (La Rioja), Los Corrales ( Sevilla) and Enker (Valencia).

According to law enforcement, illegal enterprises produced almost 540,000 packs a day, their daily circulation amounted to almost 3 million euros.

What will happen to Ukrainians who worked in illegal industries is not reported.
