In Lviv, three children were injured by an explosive made according to instructions from the social network TikTok

Three boys aged 10, 11 and 15 were hospitalized in Lviv after being injured by the explosion of a homemade “firecracker”. They all made explosives according to instructions from TikTok.

According to the Lviv City Council, the children used a plastic bottle, water, foil, and pipe cleaner and mixed these components to create an explosive device.

One of the victims was 11-year-old V’yacheslav from Lviv region. He said that together with a friend he decided to repeat what he saw on social media, mixed the ingredients and shook the bottle to cause a chemical reaction. The bottle exploded right in front of his face, and its contents caused chemical burns.

Medics report that three children have suffered such injuries in the past week. Galina Sayan, a burn and plastic surgeon, stressed that such incidents lead to deep chemical burns to the face, the consequences of which remain for life.
