In London, they plan to deliver blood between hospitals using drones

Drone/Wing

Drones will soon be used in London to urgently deliver blood samples between two hospitals. Such transportation is predicted to take two minutes.

This will take place as part of a six-month pilot program by the British startup Apian, the Alphabet company that produces Wing drones, and the National Health Service of Great Britain, according to TechCrunch.

Deliveries that used to take over 30 minutes by vans or motorbikes will now take less than two minutes. The flight will be operated by the Civil Aviation Authority, which will control the airspace.

In Great Britain, it was noted that this also reduces the CO2 emissions associated with blood delivery, because neither electric nor gas vehicles will be used.< /p>

Drone for blood transportation

The program was approved in coordination with the British startup Apian, the Alphabet company engaged in the production of Wing drones, and the National Health Service of Great Britain.

This is not the first such project. Before that, the National Health Service of Great Britain did such tests in other parts of the country. Then it was discovered that the blood delivered by drones does not spoil and does not differ from blood delivered by vans or motorcycles.

Apian and Wing have already delivered medical drugs by drones in Dublin, Ireland, and Apian tested “medical drones” in rural areas of Great Britain.
